The Sperryville United Methodist Church will hold Vacation Bible School Aug 1620. This year’s theme is “Footprints.” Bible school will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 each evening at the church.
The program will conclude on Friday, Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the church. After the program at the church everyone is invited to attend a covered dish/fellowship picnic at the home of Opie and Nancy Crawford. There will be games for the youngsters and adults.
All area children are invited to attend Vacation Bible School.
Mr. and Mrs. Buck Payne and son, Dean and Larry Sheppard visited Chris Payne in Spring Lake, N.C. recently.
Mrs. Cathy Pullen and Christal Jenkins, both of Washington and Mrs. Patty Jenkins had dinner at Pizza Hut in Luray on Saturday evening and later enjoyed the movie “Runaway Bride” at the Page Theater in Luray. They were joined by Mrs. Marcia Fincham and Crystal for the movie.
Dr. and Mrs. Wayne Thompson of Rochelle, Mrs. Margaret Berrey of Criglersville and Mrs. Leanna Wharton were Friday evening dinner guests of Mrs. Alvin Atkins on Acronbrook Lane.
Tiffany Wayland spent Friday at the 4-H pool with her friends, Nia and Dimi Genther of Front Royal.
Sympathy is extended to Mr. George Hawkins upon the passing of his wife, Mrs. Geneva Bell Hawkins on Aug. 3.
The Page County Ramblers will be playing Bluegrass music on Sunday afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. at Cooter’s, just west of Sperryville. If you haven’t been to Cooter’s yet, stop by for some old fashioned fun this weekend.
