Amissville group to meet
The Amissville Area Community Association will meet on Aug. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Amissville United Methodist Church on US 211. Community members are encouraged to be a part of this organization. For additional information call Jan Makela at 937-5718.
Forestry, timber workshop set
A Forestry Management and Timber Marketing workshop will be held Aug. 25 at the Washington fire hall. The event is co-sponsored by the Rappahannock Farmer’s Association and Virginia Cooperative Extension.
The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. and is sponsored by the Rappahannock Farmers’Association.
Speakers will include Beverly Atkins, Rappahannock County Commissioner of Revenue on Forestry Land Use requirements; Buck Kline from the Virginia Department of Forestry will speak on Virginia Water Quality laws and legal implications for landowners and Bob Dennis from the Rappahannock Farmers’Association will speak on Timber Management strategies and economic benefits on Flint Springs Farm.
Also on the agenda for the evening include Gary Younkin or Jeremy Clem from Blue Ridge Forestry and Matt Dowdy from C&K Forestry.
