monitor this notebook to help you keep your child up with assignments. All teachers are requiring all students to write in their assignment notebook at the beginning of .each class. There is no way your child should not have the dates of assignments and test dates. The administration and faculty look forward to a year in school in which your child is as organized as the most successful business executive.

Another issue that was addressed was students that drive to school. Due to safety and legal issues, the policy was improved. Any student that drives to school must be registered as stated in the Student Handbook. Also, any student that takes another student as a passenger in their automobile must have written permission on file in the office from both sets of parents. No exception! This is a safety issue that is extremely important.

Students will not be allowed to leave “resource block” unless it is a doctor’s appointment, court date, or prior approval from Mr. Raines. Approval can be denied if the student has any referrals, did not do homework assignments, or did not make the honor roll for the six weeks.

We are pleased to have you at our school. As the year progresses, we encourage you to call the school and talk with those who might be of help. If your question deals with in-class events, please ask to speak with the teacher. If it deals with the overall program, curriculum, or activities, please contact Mr. Tupper or me directly.

One of our goals is to see that the parents and guardians of students, like the students themselves, feel at home at Rappahannock County High School. To accomplish that, a newsletter is sent to all students’ homes throughout the school year with report cards, providing you with information about events and activities. We are glad to have you with us this year, and we want to assure you that we will do our best to help your child experience academic, social, and emotional growth. With your help and cooperation, this should be an excellent school year.
