ter, Democrats always worse. We are all about the same, as individuals. No one political group has all the wisdom, all the good ideas. There is a difference, a key one, and it lies in each party’s principles of government.
Present day Democrats seem to believe that governments are the answer to all our local, state and national problems; they seek constantly to enlarge governments’ roles. Always in the name of fairness, equality, necessity. What’s wrong with that?
Governments, even in their essential duties, are not producers. In performing those and not so necessary functions, they consume much, redistribute a little, hold back the drive, initiative and productivity of individuals and businesses by excessive taxes and regulations. They take much, currently about 40-45 percent of the wealth Americans produce, and they hinder the accumulation of capital vital for the growth of the economy and a better life for all.
