bazaar, sale
A Christmas bazaar and bake sale will be held Saturday, Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Amissville United Methodist Church social hall, located on US 211 in Amissville. Craft items, Christmas ornaments, children’s items, White Elephant table, large bake sale, napkins and fresh pecans will be offered. Lunch will be served.
Workshop planned
for Nov. 9-11
A sculpture workshop, figure in clay, will be held Nov. 9-11 from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at The Oldway Art Center, 11794 Lee Highway, Sperryville.

with fire issues
Low rainfall and humidity have combined with the abundance of flammable fuels to make Shenandoah National Park extremely vulnerable to fire.
As of midnight on Oct. 26 and until further notice, the following rules are in effect in Shenandoah National Park:
• No open flames
• All fires, including those built in fire grates, grills and portable stoves are prohibited;
• Smoking is allowed in vehicles and established parking areas only.
