Park to waive
weekend fees
Interior Secretary Gale Norton recently announced that all entrance fees to national park areas will be waived during Veterans’ Day weekend, Nov. 10, 11 and 12, to allow Americans to seek solace and inspiration from the nation’s parks, monuments and memorials as they recover from the Sept. 11 attack on America.
“In honor and celebration of American’s veterans and unsung heroes, the concessionaire that manages the food and lodging facilities for the National Park Services at Shenandoah National Park, is also offering all veterans and all visitors displaying red, white and blue or carrying American flags, a 50 percent discount from their standard rate for accommodations at Skyland Resort on Monday, Nov. 12," added Shenandoah National Park Superintendent Douglas Morris.
