Men caught

removing

property

Two men caught in the act of removing property from a packing house near Huntly on Oct. 23 were apprehended and charged with burglary.

According to Rappahannock County Sheriff Larry Sherertz, his office received a call from a woman, requesting that officers come to the Foster’s Packing House.

The caller told the dispatcher that the owner of the property had two men in custody, whom he had found in the process of removing a woodstove and other items from the building.

However, before the deputies arrived on the scene, the suspects escaped from the owner and were at-large in the area.

After a brief search, Dep. Anthony Berry located and arrested the pair. They were identified as Joseph S. Williams Jr., 20, of Triangle and James A. Long, 23, of Alvin, Texas.
