good fat storage. Like the bear and skunk, some bats hibernate during the cold winter months. They must store up on fat supplies to make it through the winter as they drop their body temperature and slow down their heart and metabolism. *
Bats are mostly at risk because people do not understand their value.
Humans and bats can coexist peacefully. Consider adding batspecific housing in your backyards this spring so that we can continue to benefit from their insect-eating capabilities.
