The score would have been tied except comer back Irving Smith came up and made a nice tackle to stop the Page attempt for the two extra points. That made the score 8 to 6 in favor of the visiting Panthers.
With 1:47 left in the first quarter, freshmen linebacker Alex Raney recovered a fumble at the Page 29 yard line to give Rapp a chance to extend their lead. After a Page unsportsmanship — like penalty put the ball on their nine, Clinedinst picked up eight yards to make it second and goal from the one. Freshman Dylan Corbin ran in the quarterback sneak to give the Panthers their second touchdown of the night. Compton ran in the two-point conversion and the RCHS freshmen were up 16 to 6. That's how the quarter ended.
The next possession by Page saw their offense go to the air. A 15 yard pass on third down put them on the Rapp 34 yard line, where two plays later they ran it in for their second score of the night. Again the visiting Panthers stopped the run and Rapp led 16 to 12.
Midway the second quarter, it looked like Rapp might break the game wide open after 8th grader Simon Berry recovered
