The Rappahannock County School Board granted a foster child her wish and allowed her to speak during its closed session last week about her feelings toward the school’s band director who was her foster parent for a time.
The foster child had sought the session with the school board because she felt that band director Lynne Fournier had a duty as a teacher to report to authorities that her husband had taken indecent liberties with the student while she was a foster child in their Fauquier County home. The foster child has said she felt betrayed when Mrs. Fournier “didn’t do anything” after she reported the sexual abuse to her.
Wesley Mills, chairman of the School Board, confirmed that the foster child spoke “for five to ten minutes" during its half hour closed session last week. He explained he could not speak about what w as said
