he had received the draft preliminary engineering report on the wastewater treatment system from Resource International and that he and Steve Critzer had reviewed it. He also provided a copy of the report to Council member Jeff Benson for his review and comment.
• The Mayor also noted that a final design had been received on the reservoir and that he and Mr. Critzer had reviewed that document as well, and had sent comments to the engineer. Mr. Benson was also asked to review the design.
• Council member Claudia Mitchell spoke about her proposal for a citizen task force. She said that she thought that the task force would be a means of obtaining a “wide variety of citizens in the Tbwn to work creatively” to determine what the Tbwn was and where it should be going in the context of the Tbwn’s Comprehensive Plan. After some questions from Alice Butler on the need and plans for the task force, Mayor Willis asked that Ms. Mitchell “come up with a plan” for presentation to the Council.
• Mayor Willis requested that Mr. Goebel and Mr. Benson assist in obtaining an auction house to begin the process of selling the contents of Avon Hall, and he asked that they provide some information on their progress before the Council’s November meeting.
• The Mayor also request and received approval to spend up to $1200 for Christmas decorations and for a Ibwn Christmas party, and the party was scheduled for Dec. 15.
Treasurer’s report
Treasurer Jerry Goebel reported on the Tbwn’s finances, noting consolidated assets of $228,488.13 and Water Works assets of $11,411.93 through the close of the September reporting period.
