Special to the Rappahannock New*

The Rappahannock Lions were honored by the visit of the newly elected Governor of District 24A, Shirley Wilson, who was given an attentive and enthusiastic welcome at the Oct. 10 meeting at the Flint Hill Public House.

Governor Wilson shared her new vision and leadership goals for the many clubs in her district.

She was well informed and highly complimentary about the variety of community services that Rappahannock Lions have accomplished for our schools and individual students, such as the annual sight and hearing testing, the Bland Music competitions and the new athletic programs and sports facilities.

Governor Wilson was very pleased to be given a quart jar of this year’s famous Lion Apple Butter by Charter Member Carson Johnson.
