Georgetown University’s Mask and Bauble Society prides itself on being the oldest continually running student theatrical society in the United States. Founded in 1852 as The Association for the Study of Dramatic Literature and the Practice of Elocution, it reorganized under the name Mask and Bauble Dramatic Society after World War I and shifted its emphasis to comedies and dramas. Its illustrious alumni include John Barrymore.
