who was in the midst of four Page defenders. Clinedinst saw a little daylight and raced in, grabbed the bouncing ball and ran like a wild-man through the Page defenders for a 38 yard punt return for a touchdown. The run failed but Rapp lead 28 to 20 as the third quarter ended.
Page would threaten once in the final quarter to tie the score, but the Rapp defense would rise to the challenge. With 2:29 left in the game, Page had the ball at the Rapp 15 yard line with 4th and 5 for a first down. The Page quarterback went back to pass, but defensive end Vincent Rice had other ideas and sacked the Page QB and ended the home Panthers chance for a victory. Rapp ran out the clock to seal the win.
There were numerous standout players in this game and it's tough to single out any. Clinedinst ran for 92 yards on 5 carries and Corbin picked up 80 yards for the same. There were lots of defensive stalwarts in this game which saw Rapp recover six Page County fumbles.
Linebackers Blair Atkins and Justin Gheen, along with defensive tackle Howie Clark, each played extremely well making four unassisted tackles each and helping on others.
Head Coach Kemp Pullin summed it up after the game by saying, "It was a great ending to a great first season. The other coaches and myself are so proud of what these boys have accomplished. They have been terrific."
