We would like to apologize for a mistake in last week’s paper concerning homecoming services at New Salem Baptist Church on Route 522. Services are scheduled for this coming Sunday, Oct. 20 with Rev. Virgil Wilson of Culpeper as guest speaker. Pastor Sandy Martin and the congregation extends an invitation to all to attend.
Congratulations to Stephen Dowell of Castleton, who along with other students, has been named a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program for the year 2003.
Belated wishes to Mr. Floyd T. Binns, a retired minister and school teacher who observed his 97th birthday on Friday. He taught for many years at Mitchell’s High School and later at Culpeper schools, pastoring churches in Culpeper and at one time Mt. Salem Church in Rappahannock.
