Rappahannock News Staff Writer
When firearms deer season opens in Rappahannock County next month, it will be without a resident game warden in place.
One has been hired, however, by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. He is currently attending the department's 32-week training academy in Richmond, Va. and will report to Rappahannock in April of next year.
The recent retirement of Sgt. Jim Bankston left Rappahannock County without a resident game warden.
