Senator Kerry has spent much of the year striving to convince Americans that he is fit to be commander-in-chief. He has made much of his four months of service in Vietnam, his three Purple Hearts, and his campaign promises to vigorously fight terrorism, but his case is unconvincing because of his troubling record on national security in the last 30 years and his incoherent position on the war in Iraq.
