Kerry promises to pursue victory in Iraq with help from reluctant allies. But how could a President Kerry persuade any country to join him in what he’s called “a diversion” from the war on terrorism, a “wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time”?
The election of Kerry as president would undoubtedly be interpreted by the world— both our fair-weather allies and our terrorist enemies—as a repudiation of America's policy in Iraq. This wotild encourage and embolden the terrorists, feed Iraqi doubts about America’s resolve, and trigger street celebrations in Paris, where anything that weakens American power is cheered.
Beyond these national security considerations, I support Bush because I know what he believes and trust his straight talk explaining it. Because of my Catholic faith, I cannot vote for Kerry—a man who says he’s
