can defeat Strasburg and Manassas Park, they can advance to district. The top 15 individual runners will also advance and be named all-district.
“Alex should make all-district,” Strand said. “I think Kevin has a pretty good shot at it, too.”
Martin and Makela have been pushing each other both in practice and in the meets.
“It’s v pretty good rivalry,” Strand said. “They really push each other and it helps the whole team.”
Strand said Tisera ran a personal best, but the rest of the team was a little slower.
“I think part of it was the footing,” Strand said. “It was also damp and colder than it had been. Everyone was a little off.”
Strand said he was “very proud of the way the team performed in this important meet before the district championships next week.”
Other finishers for the Panthers were Ethan Russell, eighth, 21:45; Tom Gillis, ninth, 22:45; Zach Wayland, eleventh, 22:42.
