The Rev. Jennings Hobson III from the Trinity Episcopal Church held a blessing ceremony for the new tree last Sunday. Let’s give the tree time to grow and it will be just as beautiful as the Bradford Pear.
Halloween
Parents, with Halloween just around the comer, make sure you have a good supply of treats for the little goblins when they come knocking on your door. As your child follows the great American tradition of trick-or-treating in area neighborhoods, make sure he or she wears light-colored clothing or reflective tape so they can be seen easily, carry a flashlight in case it gets dark, and most of all, make sure your child is accompanied by an adult. We would not want the little goblins to have an accident and end up in the emergency room. Halloween should be a fun time that your child remembers for years to come.
The Washington Baptist Church will host a Halloween costume party on Friday, Oct. 29 at 6:30 p.m. for grades one through six. There will be refreshments, games and even candy apple making. Rev. Bailey is not sure at this point whether he will be dressing up in a costume. But remember, Halloween brings out the kid in all of us.
