• Oct. 28 is the last day the Registrar’s Office will mail absentee ballots. Absentee voters have until Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. to vote in person at the Registrar’s Office. • On Thursday, Oct. 28 there will be a Special Education Advisory Council meeting at the Rappahannock County High , School library at 3:45 p.m. The topic will be Creating a Parent/ Teacher Resource Center.
• Daylight-saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 31. Clocks should be turned back one hour. County fire chiefs urge residents to put new batteries in all smoke detectors each time clocks are changed. Moving the clock back one hour this weekend is a good reminder. • On Monday, Nov. 1, the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors will meet at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the county courthouse on Gay Street.
