The Castle Trio will bring music of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven to the Theatre at Washington on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 8 p.m.
The concert is part of the twelfth season in the Smithsonian at Little Washington series held at the Theatre.
The Castle Trio is trio-in-residence at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History in Washington D.C. Its members have been performing together since 1983 on the museum’s exceptional collection of period instruments. (A fortepiano will be brought in to the Theatre for the upcoming concert in Little Washington.)
The Trio continues to garner praise both here and abroad for its many recordings as well as its live performances—as the BBC Record Review commented, “this is a trio of real virtuoso players who savor the sonority of the old instruments and who play beautifully together.”
