This year’s Song Camp in the Country kicks off Friday, Oct. 29, with an 8 p.m. concert at the Theatre at Washington featuring Grammy winner Jon Vezner, the incomparable Billy Jonas and Rappahannock’s own Paul Reisler.
The concert also celebrates the release of Reisler’s two new recordings: “At Night the Roses Tango” and “Kid Pan Alley Nashville.” The concert is open to the public. Tickets are $16 in advance and $18 at the door.
Reisler’s new band, Paul Reisler and a Thousand Questions featuring Angela Kaset, Howard Levy, Ysaye Barnwell and Amy Speace recorded a new album this summer that will be released at the concert. He will be joined by vocalist Amy Speace, Jagoda on percussion, and harmonica virtuoso Gary Green.
Song Camp is an annual weekend instructional retreat sponsored by Ki Theatre and held in Washington. This year’s Song Camp, scheduled for Oct. 29-31, marks the organization’s 10th year of offering the event.
