Portions of Skyline Drive will be closed during hunting season. This is the 26th year such closings have taken place to reduce illegal hunting activity within the park.
From Nov. 8 to Jan. 2, the Skyline Drive between Front Royal and Thornton Gap, and between Swift Run Gap and Rockfish Gap will be closed daily between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. The central portion of the drive, between Thornton Gap and Swift Run, will remain open for overnight access to Skyland Resort and Big Meadows Campground
