There’s a new restaurant in Sperryville where the old Appetite Repair Shop used to be.

The Mountain Cafe has been open since late April and, after working out the start-up bugs, is officially open for everyone to stop in and give this new restaurant a try.

As you come in the door, owner Shana Selahi will greet you, exuding friendly warmth and welcome. The decor is simple and functional, with the feel of a deli or take-out establishment.

The fare is very moderately priced, with most items either $6.99 or $7.99 and the most expensive dishes at $12.95. The menu changes a bit from day to day, and there are a few more dinner entrees available on the weekends than during the week. One regular menu item worth a taste is Shana’s roast chicken.
