Speaking on behalf of the Rappahannock Fire Association was the vice president, Frank Huff of Flint Hill, making the request for the board not to cut their original request of $626,850 to the proposed $607,994.
County administrator John McCarthy explained to the numerous representatives from the association that the fire levy is not generating the amount of money requested.
“We are asking for yo” to do a bit of belt tightening foi a year,” McCarthy said, “It is not directed at any individual fire company, we are just asking for all of you to tighten the amount of spending for each operation.”
