Camp

workshop.

The songcamp is open to songwriters at all levels from beginners to professionals.

Lodging and meals will be available onsite at the beautiful campus of the Blue Ridge School.

“Our hope is that we will be training future Kid Pan Alley teachers,” remarked Reisler who said becoming qualified to be a songwriting instructor is also part of their program.

Kid Pan Alley grew out of a school residency project that had its roots in Rappahannock County.

Many of the 50-plus songs that resulted from those young songwriters were so funny and enchanting that Reisler garnered a number of the county’s musicians to record them in their own styles. The result was a remarkable collection of now recorded songs that are listened to nationwide.

The concept of shared songwriting that was birthed by Kid Pan Alley has now spread to communities throughout the country, including ongoing CD projects in Nashville.

Scholarships available

Reisler is thrilled to be able to offer scholarships this year to help defray some of the expenses. They will be available to aspiring young songwriters in Rappahannock and Fauquier counties.

“They are being sponsored by a Seattle songwriter that was so delighted with our program that he wanted others to be able to experience it,” said Reisler who may be reached at (540) 987-3166 for more information.
