15ee bucket business
There, on the side of a forsythia bush, away from the driveway, was a huge quivering mass of bees, which had attached itself to a branch no bigger than a pencil. There were still lots of bees in the air, but they were landing there and making the mass bigger, all the time.
I took a few pictures, getting as close as I dared. I didn’t get stung once, and the bees didn’t appear ‘angry and weren’t trying to land on me. Except for showing them to my wife and daughter when they came home, we left them alone for the rest of the day.
The next morning, the bees were still there and Linda said we ought to do something with them. As often happens, she had a good idea. We called our friend and gentleman farmer and orchardist, Eddie Williams, down on the Ben Venue Road. We knew he had bees and sold honey.
Yes, he said, he would love to have them. After a bit, Eddie and a friend showed up and they looked the situation over. Then, they got a plastic five gallon bucket with a screen wire top and placed it just under the branch wdth the bees on it. Now, no one had any bee gear, no bee hats, no smoker, or even long sleeved shirts.
