Bee-dazzled
When you get a few years on you, sometimes you think you have seen just about everything there is to see. I had never seen anything like this. It was wonderful. It was amazing.
Okay, I watch the Discovery Channel, too, but to be right there and see this was something I am glad I did not miss.
What does this have to do with nature’s bounty? Eddie said the following: A swarm in May’s worth a rick of hay. A swarm in June’s worth a silver spoon. A swarm in July is a needle in the eye. He said that meant that the earlier in the year you get your new swarms of honey bees, the better off you are. You can get them working earlier, and they are easier to handle. I'm just hoping a swarm in May’s worth a couple of squares of honey. I love it with the comb in it.
Still, it doesn’t sound like fooling with honeybees in July would be much fun.
