Many players, coaches, parents, and invited guests were on hand at the newlyconstructed girls softball field in Amissville, Sunday, May 22, to attend its dedication ceremonies sponsored by Piedmont Softball Association, Inc.
Piedmont is the Amissville-based Babe Ruth League-affiliate that provides softball programs to all interested area girls ages five through 18-years- old.
With red, white, and blue streamers flying and sponsorship billboards decorating the ballfield fences, the new field located at 10 Maddox Lane and Rt. 211, was officially named Ladybug Park.
The park will be the home site of the 2005 Virginia Babe Ruth Softball District 3 tournaments beginning June 22.
