Interesting aside

While most Kurdish people in Iran are Islamic, the Selahis happen to be Zorpastrian, one of the most ancient religions still practiced today. Some scholars argue that Zoroastrianism is the original monotheistic religion. Plato wrote about it, saying that in his day, it was already 6000 years old. In any event, it is known to predate Christianity by at least half a millennium, and maybe closer to two millennia.

In addition to being a restaurateur, Shana Salahi teaches Tai Chi locally and has been a practitioner of acupressure therapy among her several careers. Back in Iran, she taught Persian literature.
