“We need to adjust the tap fee so it's fair for everyone,” said Town Attorney John Bennett at an earlier meeting.
The interim fee will be applied to new tap requests for single family homes and in the town limits who don't place unusual requirements on the town water supply. It was Sid Worley's tap request, filed a month ago,that finally prompted the Town Council to adjust the fee, which had been tabled for further discussion on two previous occasions. Because Worley's request was filed prior to the fee change, he will be the last applicant u, pay the older, cheaper rate.
