There will be a public showing of PBS special “A Family Undertaking” on Friday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Library in Washington. This wonderful film explores the growing home-funeral movement by following several families in their most intimate moments as they reclaim the end of life, foregoing a typical mortuary funeral to care for their loved ones at home. Annual Meeting

On Friday, October 28 at 7:30 p.m., the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection (RLEP) will hold its Annual Meeting at the Washington Fire Hall, to which RLEP members as well as the general public are cordially invited. This year's Annual Meeting will be dedicated to RLEP's celebration of its 35th anniversary. The business portion of the meeting will consist of a brief presentation of the organization s history, past •achievements and future goals; also, several new candidates to the Board of Directors will be elected. But the major part of the evening will be devoted to enjoying good conversation and food and beverages among members and friends of RLEP. The complimentary food will consist of delicious appetizers and desserts supplied by Rappahannock County eateries.
