Kenny Davem has been described by Will Friedwald in The New York Times as “probably the finest clarinetist playing today.” He started playing professionally at age sixteen and in 1954, at age nineteen, made his first recording, with Jack Teagarden. He is now in his sixth decade of performing and was recently inducted into the American Jazz Hall of Fame. He has appeared on numerous recordings. “Breezin’ Along” was selected by several critics as one of the best jazz records of 1997. “Bom to Play,” on which he also appeared, was selected in 1999
