Anyone who struggles with emphysema, chronic bronchitis, asthma or pulmonary fibrosis, or is a lung transplant patient, may be the perfect candidate for Fauquier Hospital’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program.

Using physician supervision and individualized care, this program helps improve the quality of life for people with chronic lung disease.

Services offered include:

• Exercise sessions

supervised by registered respiratory therapists.

• Education and instruction.

• Smoking cessation counseling.

• Nutrition counseling.

• Psycho-social support.

• Oxygen therapy.

Those who consider themselves a candidate for the Pulmonary Rehab Program should ask their doctor for a referral.

Heart health

Fauquier Hospital recently remodeled its Cardiopulmonary Gym to allow more scheduling options for its cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation patients.

The gym is open from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and can accommodate both types of rehabilitation patients at the same time.
