Participate in Domestic Violence Awareness month activities such at the SAFE house candlelight vigil on Oct. 25 at 5:30 p.m. in the Culpeper County Courtyard. Encourage your workplace to adopt a local domestic violence program by donating money and allowing employees time off to volunteer.
Studies show that one in every three women will be abused in their lifetime. A high percentage of the men that abuse these women will also abuse their children. How can we stand by and do nothing? If you know someone in a violent relationship, be a friend and be there when they need you.
Please make a stand. Show our children that love shouldn't hurt. Show our neighbors that we care. Do something about it. Don't make excuses ... make it stop.
