Promoting preventive medicine through a healthy
lifestyle is the theme of Alive and Kicking—Fauquier
Hospital's annual health fair. For 17 years, Alive & Kicking
has helped members of our community take an active approach to monitoring their health and wellness, for FREE. This community-wide fall tradition will help you improve your health through education and awareness. For the second year since the completion of our five-story addition, screenings will take place inside the new Tower from 8:00 AM-Noon on Saturday, October 22. Don't forget that all screenings are FREE—it's our way of helping you get into the habit of taking charge of your health and well-being. You might also want to make plans to have lunch at our Bistro restaurant. The following are some of the FREE screenings you can expect to find at the Alive & Kicking Health Fair. Cholesterol Do you know your numbers? A simple cholesterol screening is the most important step you can take in understanding your risk for developing cardiac disease. (The cholesterol screening includes total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, and a cholesterol ratio. Fasting is not necessary.)
