Rappahannock County Sheriff Larry Sherertz is seeking information about Fred Howard “Chick” Coffey Jr., a convicted murderer currently serving a life sentence in North Carolina. According to Sherertz and Montgomery County Police, Coffey is a “person of interest” in the unsolved case of the 1975 disappearance of Katherine and Sheila Lyon from their hometown of Wheaton, Maryland. Although Coffey is already in custody for the murder of a tenyear-old girl in 1979, he has not cooperated with police investigating the disappearance of the Lyon sisters, who were ten and twelve when they went missing 31 years ago.
