JOINT PUBLIC HEARING
TOWN OF WASHINGTON, VIRGINIA
PURSUANT to Section 6-1-1 of the Town of Washington Zoning Ordinance and Section 15.2-2204 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, notice is hereby given that the Town Council and Planning Commission of Washington, Virginia, will hold a joint public hearing on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 7:30 pm in the Town Hall on Gay and Calvert Streets in Washington, Virginia, in order to consider the following application:
TW RZ #06-03-01 Application by the Town of Washington for the rezoning of a proposed 4.0 acre parcel of land (portion of Tax Map 20A-1, Parcel 115), a portion of the Avon Hall property, to be rezoned from the existing “RR” Rural Residential zoning category to a new proposed “GS" Government Services category. Said rezoning application contingent upon adoption by the Council of the new proposed “GS” zoning category and related standards, the subject of a public hearing at the same meeting. The Town Council proposes to sell the proposed parcel to the County of Rappahannock. Rezoning allowed under Section 9-1-1 of the Town of Washington Zoning Ordinance.
A COPY of the foregoing application is on file at the Zoning Office in Washington, Virginia, and is available for public inspection, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Said application will be reviewed by the Town of Washington Planning Commission first for such recommendation as the Commission may wish to make pursuant to Section 9-3, if any, and then considered by the Council. The above-named applicant, adjacent property owners, and any other parties desiring to be heard should be present at said meeting or should address their written comments to the Town Council, c/o P.O. Box 519, Washington, Virginia 22747, in advance thereof.
