Stepping into a role made famous on Broadway 50 years ago by Geraldine Page, and later in an Oscarnominated screen performance by Katharine Hepburn, Rappahannock’s own Johanna Day stars in a new adaptation of Rainmaker at Arena Stage under the direction of Lisa Peterson.
Judging from the sustained applause and dialogue with the audience after the play this past week, Day excels in her interpretation of this warm play about self esteem, beauty, and love.
