For the first time in a generation, we have an opportunity to fix Virginia's transportation crisis. Governor Kaine’s and the State Senate's transportation plan addresses transportation through a longterm sustainable solution that increases accountability and provides a reliable source of funding to invest in transportation, economic development and jobs for the entire Commonwealth. The House Republican plan won't pay for current transportation needs and is not a long-term solution. It would cut priorities like teacher pay, early childhood education, and economic development funds, which would hurt jobs in this region. The House Plan is Just Wrong for Virginia.
