No easy
solution
The Town of Washington needs help. There are houses within its boundaries that have failing septic systems. There are residents that need to put boots on to walk in their backyards for fear of stepping in more than lawn fudge. There is an odor that permeates the air when the temperature starts getting warmer. Town officials are weary of waiting and want action after years of failed attempts to address the problem. They are committed to moving forward to build a wastewater treatment plant that will not only solve the town’s failing septic systems but benefit the county as a whole. They believe their course is true. There are others in the county who strongly believe that putting that effluent liquid into the Rush River is a mistake. More than a mistake it represents shortsightedness on the part of the town and that building a wastewater treatment plant is not the answer - there are other alternatives to look at.
