Head boys varsity soccer coach Shay Bell has a “so what” attitude toward his Rappahannock County team’s 1-3 start to its season.
“This is definitely the worst start I’ve had at Rappahannock,” said Bell, who is in his fifth year as head coach of the Panthers. “I told them not to get too down about it. It’s (Group A Bull Run) district play that counts.”
To jump start the Panthers, particularly their offense, Bell made three significant changes in his lineup. He tossed out the sweeper formation and moved Will Sonnett to the midfield. Then, he switched senior Matt Lawrey to the front line and junior All-District selection Alex Ramey to the midfield.
“After three games, we had scored only three goals,” Bell said. “We’ve to get some good production.”
