iiumcoicau. iiicjr aiau vidiicu and learned about Colonial cralters and took a boat tour of the Potomac Watershed. They will next be focusing on Thomas Jefferson, James and Dolly Madison, Benjamin Franklin and Woodrow Wilson. A walking tour of Sperryville is also planned with local historian, James Russell.

The 4th -5th grades have also begun writing practice poems for the upcoming poetiy reading to be held at Hearthstone School on May 12, and are studying long division, fractions and decimals.

The high school classes are currently studying 19th and 20th Centuiy English Literature, focusing on Alice Walker, Upton Sinclair, James Baldwin and Ralph Waldo Emerson. They have also begun their apprenticeships, with students working in newspaper reporting with the Rappahannock News, as well as horticulture, child care and midwifery and photography. The high school students also continue their SAT preparation work, and are now focusing on reading comprehension section.
