Today, I cook some pretty diverse dishes, and some of them, I am told, are pretty impressive. Most of these my mother would never have dreamed of cooking and many of them she still won’t consider eating. Nevertheless, this passion for cooking was planted firmly by my mother, knowingly or not.
Today I have gadgets and spices and pots in my kitchen that Mom wouldn’t recognize. Although she owns a pepper grinder now ... a present from me ... I can’t remember her ever having one growing up. For me, it’s one of those “can’t live without”
