Hearthstone School
Hearthstone School’s Annual Auction will be held on April 8. The silent auction begins at 4 p.m., and the live auction begins at 5 p.m. Hearthstone is interested in obtaining donations from local artisans and craftspersons, as well as artwork, antiques and other items. All donations are tax deductible. If you would like to make a donation to the auction, please contact the school office at 540-987-9212.
April 8: Easter Cantata
The Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Association invites the community to the Easter Cantata, “The Victory” on Saturday, April 8 at 6 p.m., at the Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Center, 15044 Ryland Chapel Rd, Rt. 640, Rixeyville. Musical Guests for the evening include Mr. Donnie Carter, formerly of Rappahannock County and now Winchester, Agape of Fredericksburg, and Voices of Praise of Culpeper. The All Association Cantata Mass Choir is under the direction of Rev. Lemuel Montgomery and Sis. Everetta Lewis. Rehearsals for youth and adults are on April 3rd and 7th at 7:00 p.m. Ticket donation is $5/person, children 17 & under are free, college students are $2/w/college id. April 11: Culpeper Minute Men
Chapter of the NSDAR meeting
The Culpeper Minute Men Chapter of the NSDAR will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11 at the Madison Presbyterian Church, Madison. The program “Your DAR Museum” will be presented by Emily Richardson, Past National Chairman. On display are such wonders as a glass dachshund to drink from, jewelry made from human hair, and a snuffbox made from a ram’s head, Also included in the present exhibit are peculiar medical care tools, kitchen utensils and musical instruments. The present exhibit includes some pretty bizarre stuff among the treasures of the DAR Museum, running the gamut from obsolete to merely odd to altogether kooky. Hostesses will be Beck Rumpler and Lydia Hansen.
