Powdery Mildew
with Dithane®, Nova* To keep apple diseases such as scab, powdery mildew and rust under control, ore hard lscs should implement rigorous spray schedules. Although many fungicides are available to prevent infections, some have an additional benefit in that they offer “kickback” activity.

1 )ithane Rainshield has excellent protectant properties against scab and rust because of its ability to snek to the leaf surface, resist wash-oils from rainfall and redistribute to unprotected parts of the leaf surface upon rainfall
Mancozeb. the active ingredient in Dithane, inhibits development of fungus spores as they germinate. I iithane is particularly effective when used during primary scab.
Coupled with sy stemic fungicides like Nova, apple growers have from 72 to lX> hours of kickback activity against apple scab. Nova blocks specific biological pathways in the fungus and protects foliage and fruit.
Use Nova with Dithane m a spray program at seven- to 10-day intervals to control apple scab.
For powdery mildew control, use a sterol inhibitor fungicide like Nova starting at tight cluster through first or second cover on a 10- to 14—clay spray schedule.
