Mark Sasse, Wakefield’s seventh grade geography and technology teacher, has been working closely with his students for the past several months, helping them to deepen their knowledge of the countries that encompass the African continent while also teaching them how to create movies. The students’ efforts culminated in a special presentation of their short film entitled, Africa. Each member of the class did extensive research, produced posters and also went to the Smithsonian’s Museum of African Art, weaving all the different pieces of information they had gathered into an informative and colorful piece .
