How does my garden grow?
Sunnyside Farms Manager Gustavo Diaz and RCHS Horticulture Teacher Beth Gall show off spring greens grown in the RCHS Greenhouse by students in the Farm-to-Table Program. Behind them, left to right, Headwaters Executive Director Paige Coombs, Farm-to-Table Coordinator Trista Scheuerlein, and RCHS student Kyle O’Harrow proudly display a donation from the Cole Family Foundation. The donation — as well as the technical support offered by Mr. Diaz and other Sunnyside Farms staff — will help to expand the Farm-to-Table Program at both Rappahannock County High School and Rappahannock County Elementary School. The contribution will also make possible the 6th and 7th grade Agriculture Exploratory classes’ participation in “The Growing Connection,” an international collaborative gardening project sponsored by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization and the American Horticultural Society.
