Manage Powdery
Mildew by Rotating
Grape Fungicides
Powdery mildew has reportedly developed resistance to strobilurin and sterol inhibitor fungicides, meaning it’s important to rotate fungicides for best control.
Initiating a preventive program using Dithane' DF Rainshield’, Nova' 40W and Quintec* fungicides is a good start.
Quintet is the newest resistance management tool tor the control of powdery mildew. Quinoxyfen, the active ingredient in Quintec, has the ability to redistribute across expanding leaf and berry tissues and reach hanlto-cover areas for superior bunch and leaf protection.
Wherever possible, and especially on wine grapes, sulfur should be tank-mixed with Quintec and other powdery mildew fungicides as an additional resistance management practice.
Nova remains a leading fungicide for control of powdery mildew and black rot. It’s absorbed into the plant and kills die fungus early in the infection pnxess. before symptoms appear.
